This month is PACKED with events in April! With Big Beat Dallas getting through its Grand Opening weekend, and Toyota Music Factory having theirs next weekend, there will be no shortage of things to do in Irving! Beats, Beers, & Brats!

Kick off the weekend with the annual Irving Marathon Saturday morning, shop the Albertsons’ Ranchers Market from 6am-2pm, and stay for a beer garden & bratwurst tastings in the Texas Lottery Plaza.

Music starts at sunrise and plays all day until 2am!

Headliner acts include Shinyribs, Zac Harmon, and the Graceland Ninjas on the Texas Lottery Plaza Main Stage!

Blues with Zac Harmon

Zac Harmon is an award-winning guitarist, organist, singer, and songwriter whose distinctive style combines the best of old-school soul-blues artists with modern lyrics and themes that bring the blues into a new century. He’ll be performing on the Texas Lottery Plaza! Cover is free until 9PM.



2018 Irving Pet Pawlooza

Irving Animal Care Campus, 4140 Valley View Lane

A fun-filled day for families and their pets! Join the Irving Animal Care Campus for this free event! They will have free rabies vaccinations and microchipping for pets of Irving residents! There will also be vendors, fun, and games!

Hike and Brunch

Lake Carolyn, 777 Lake Carolyn Parkway

The Ghanian Professionals Network will host a Hike and Brunch this Saturday at Lake Carolyn! Afterwards, guests will bring brunch items to eat in the park!



Graceland Ninjaz

Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys

Their stunningly clean and cohesive performance of Cajun French music from the backwaters of Southwest Louisiana propelled them into the world music limelight early on, and by their third release, Trace of Time, had garnered them a Grammy nomination in the worldwide field of traditional folk music, another in 2004 for Bon Reve, in 2009 for Live at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and again in 2011 for their latest release, Grand Isle.


C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band

C.J,‘s 1995 appearances on the Jon Stewart Show and CNN brought C.J.’s music to his widest audiences yet. But all this attention didn’t change his philosophy toward his music. “You go to a gig by a jazz band,” he says, “and everybody’s sitting down, sipping drinks. You play zydeco and you see shoes flying off. You can’t come to my show and stay unhappy all night long. You’re going to break a smile and stomp your foot before too long. This is happy music, and it makes you dance.”

Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band

Undeniably “The World’s Premier Zydeco Showman.” Born on July 1, 1967 in Churchpoint, Louisiana, Chubby is the third generation of zydeco artists with such famous relatives as Roy Carrier (father), Warren Carrier (grandfather), and cousins Bebe and Calvin Carrier who are presently considered legends in zydeco history.
